A Humpback Whale Swallowed a Kayaker in Chile Before Quickly Releasing Him

While kayaking off the coast of Chile just a week ago with his father, Adrian Simancas was paddling when a humpback whale rolled the surface with its mouth open, fully engulfing him.

Shortly after being pulled down, the whale's tail broke the surface and so did Simancas after being released from the Whale's jaws.

Simancas told the AP that he thought he was dead. "I thought it had eaten me, that it had swallowed me."

He also went on the explain how he thought maybe when the whale was resurfacing it would hurt his father. "When I came up and started floating, I was scared that something might happen to my father too, that we wouldn't reach the shore in time, or that I would get hypothermia."

Both kayakers returned to shore without injuries. Check out the breathtaking video of the encounter below!
