New METALLICA Song 'Lux Æterna' - LISTEN NOW!

Metallica has officially announced its next album - and shared the first single.

Today, the band revealed the album's title, 72 Seasons, release date of April 14, 2023, and a full track listing.

They also shared the first single, the hard-riffing "Lux Æterna" which you can hear above.

James Hetfield says 72 Seasons is about "The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves".

The record clocks in at 12 tracks and over 77 minutes. It's their first full album of new material since 2016's Hardwired... To Self-Destruct.

Metallica also announced the massive 'M72 World Tour', launching in April 2023.

The tour's 'No Repeat Weekend' format will see the band perform on two nights with two completely different sets with different opening acts.

Some of those opening acts include Volbeat, Five Finger Death Punch, Mammoth WHV, Greta Van Fleet, and the much-hyped Pantera reunion.

Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, Dec. 2nd. Presale tickets go on sale Wednesday, Nov. 30th.
