Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx has teamed up with Rob Zombie, John 5 and Ozzy Osbourne drummer Tommy Clufetos for a new supergroup, L.A. RATS, which is teasing something new coming on Friday.
Each of the band members shared a graphic teasing something for May 21. It is believed to be the release of the group's cover of Geoff Mack's "I've Been Everywhere," which they recorded for the upcoming Liam Neeson film, The Ice Road, which premieres on Netflix on June 25.
Both Clufetos and John 5 have done stints in Zombie's solo band. It's unclear if the four-piece has plans for more music or if L.A. RATS is a one-and-done project.
The Ice Road is an action thriller in which Neeson plays an ice road truck driver sent on a mission to save a group of miners trapped in a cave-in.
"That hard-charging sense of the road is a real common ground between rock, country and Americana," said Big Machine Label Group founder and chairman Scott Borchetta. "Musicians live the road life. They know the freedom, the speed, the gone and the get there — and every single artist on this soundtrack understands exactly why these songs have such enduring appeal."
The Ice Road soundtrack also features cover songs by Jason Isbell, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw and others.
