My kid asked me this the other day in the car. She said "Dad. What do you think our dogs would say if they could talk?" I told her I hoped they would say they're happy, and they love us, but who knows.
So if you could ask your pet one question, what would that be if you know they could answer you?
Mine would be "Are you happy?" I know they are, but it would be nice to know for sure I guess, that or if they hate their food or not.
But what would other people ask their pets if they could talk? These might surprise you.
The number 1 question that people would ask, was the same as mine. "Are you happy?" because as family members this is what would mean most to you.
Other top questions include "do you like your life?" and "what is actually happening in that head?". 88% believe they truly understand their pet, while 41 % say their animal understands them better than any human. Almost half of owners have sought life advice from their pets, despite knowing they won't respond.
So you're not weird, you just need validation from your pet that they're happy and you're doing a good job. Nobody else tells you, so why not ask your dog right?
