Is everything so expensive now that it has you rethinking that summer vacation? A lot of people are going to be making some hard decisions soon if something doesn't break.
First thing to go is the vacation. I mean, is it necessary to go to an island somewhere anyway? YES!! But only if you can afford it. With gas and everything so expensive at the moment, it's not just your car. It's planes, and all the things you want to do are starting to become out of reach, even if you've been saving for it.
For some, it doesn't matter the cost. Toss it on a card and pay for it later. But, to save money, 34% bring snacks instead of dining out, 28% drive rather than fly, and 24% take fewer but more meaningful trips. When cutting costs, travelers reduce dining out expenses (42%), shopping and souvenirs (40%), and trip length (33%).
Even my favorite place to go, Las Vegas has even been hit with limited flights because of gas prices. So it's not just the beach.
Will you still go on vacation even though it might be out of reach for your wallet? (my answer is yes, get me the F out of here.)
