Are You Closer With Your Mom Or Dad?

Sometimes you can't choose which parent you're closer to. But if you had to choose between mom or dad, who would you choose as your favorite?

My dad passed back in 2022, and he and I were pretty close and talked almost every day. But since, I still find myself going to call him to share some news, or something that happened to get his thoughts on that. Not that I didn't love/talk to my mom all of the time, especially now. I love both my parents to this day. They made me the messed up person I am today and I love them for that. They taught me to be me no matter what anyone says. So that's what I've always done.

But what if you had to pick? Who would you say was your favorite? Mom? Dad? (yes step parents are also included. Tuff job that never gets enough credit.)

Well, according to a new YouGov survey of 1,134 adults, if you had to pick a parent most would say it's their mom. (with Mother's Day makes sense right?) 47% plan to celebrate Mother's Day compared to 34% for Father's Day. (don't forget dad BTW)

Women were more likely to seek advice from mothers, like 43% of women, while men more often resembled fathers physically (49% versus 29% for women).

Don't get me started on In-Laws now. That's a whole different beast. But different story for a different time.

So if you HAD to choose, would you pick your mom or dad as your favorite? I would choose just a few more minutes with my dad at the moment, but wouldn't trade my mom for the world. So honestly...I don't know either. But love them while you can. You think they'll be around forever, the truth is, they won't be. So don't waste a few precious moments you have with them over stupid S#!t.
