Journey Extends Las Vegas Residency Through New Year's Eve

Journey Begins Second Residency At The Hard Rock In Las Vegas

Journey is giving fans a rare opportunity to ring in the New Year with the band this winter.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have extended their Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace by four dates, including December 27, 28, 30 and 31.

"We don't usually play a New Year's Eve show," keyboardist Jonathan Cain told Billboard in a recent interview. "How quick the [other] shows sold [out] sealed the idea and this year it made sense for all of us."

Cain adds that Journey has always enjoyed performing in Vegas.

"I always tell people, there's a heart in Vegas you haven't seen yet," he continued. "You don't have to look far to find it. Back in the day, nobody wanted to play Vegas — and now it has become the place to play."

The newly announced Vegas shows go on sale August 2.

This year has been one of limited activity for Journey. The first show the band will play this year is September 27 in Atlantic City, NJ.

In all, Journey has just 18 shows on its itinerary for this year. Get all the dates here.

Journey's last North American tour with Def Leppard grossed nearly $100 million, according Billboard. The band hasn't announced whether it plans to make a new album or head out on another big tour in 2020.
