VIDEO: Asteroid Came Within 43,500 Miles of Earth

We had a near miss earlier this week and astronomers had no idea until the object was upon us. Why? The sun. They couldn't see it.

An Asteroid estimated at 427 feet across came suprisingly close to Earth, closer than our Moon; 43,500 miles from contact. So just how close is 43,500 miles? Pretty damn close!
