Here in the Queen City, we know tradition doesn’t mean you’ve got to play by the rules. Case in point: Kraft’s new limited-edition flavor that fuses the comfort of mac and cheese with the sweetness of apple pie. Yep — the brand famous for bright orange noodles is dangling a cinnamon-and-green-apple spin just in time for Thanksgiving.
They teamed up with actor Jason Biggs (yes-the American Pie guy) to promote it. Biggs says the combo is “daring yet delicious” and “bound to be the talk of the Thanksgiving table this year.” If you have seen ‘American Pie’, I don’t know if this is good or bad.
For our Cincinnati households: If you’re already digging into turkey, sweet potato, green-beans-with-crisp topping, you’ve got room for a wild-card side dish. Especially if you’ve got guests who’ll eat anything once and call it a “story.” And if you spot the box at Walmart (or elsewhere) for $1.48 before supplies vanish, why not throw it in just for grins.
Now, I’m not promising it’s going to dethrone your mom’s homemade green-bean casserole. But for that moment of “Hey-we-did-something-weird-and-it-worked,” this could be your move. It’s holiday flavor adventure with a wink. And in a city like ours — where we can appreciate both the familiar and the slightly off-beat — that feels about right. CHECK OUT MORE HERE
