It was six years ago today that we lost the late, great Tom Petty.
Petty died on October 2nd, 2017, from an accidental medication overdose that caused him to go into cardiac arrest.
He had just completed a 40th anniversary tour with the Heartbreakers and was less than three weeks away from his 67th birthday.
Since then, Petty's family has worked to continue his legacy by releasing archival recordings like the 2021 Finding Wildflowers box set and last year's Live at the Fillmore 1997.
